CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Certification

30 Day Challenge Program- *INFO SESSION ONLY*

Monday, August 22, or Monday August 29

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Facilitator: Odie Gray, Diversity Cyber Council

This “information session” will present the next steps and eligibility requirements for the CompTIA IT Fundamental+ Certification. The “30- Day Challenge” is a self-study and instructor-led program in which candidates are provided content and materials to assist in learning the basics of information technology to successfully pass the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ exam in 30 days.

Please note: This hybrid class is held virtually and in person. Training will begin Sept. 1st.

Financial Literacy and Credit Repair

Tuesdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Facilitator: Frank Williams, On the Rise Financial Center/Inclusiv

This track provides parent learners with group and one-on-one financial coaching to help them achieve their financial goals by creating an individualized plan that builds assets, reduces debt, and creates pathways for future success. Parent learners will establish a working budget, build, and improve credit and have the opportunity for credit union membership. Matching savings incentives available.

Workforce Development/Career Readiness

Wednesdays, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Facilitator: Felicia A. Hill, F. Hill & Associates, LLC

This track is designed for learners looking for a new job, switching careers, want to start their own business and or interested in sharpening their skills to achieve life goals. The course will provide real-life tools and techniques to take your career to the next level and free resources and insight to make your small business a reality. Get FREE one-on- one job coaching, resume writing and interview tips. Speak with leading experts to help take your small business to the next level. Incentives apply for those who obtain jobs or promotions.

Anger Management Tools

Wednesdays 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon 

Facilitator: Dr. Jerome Maultsby, Ignite the Power Within, LLC

Through this course, Parent Learners will gain a better understanding of anger, the stages of anger, and how anger affects those around you. Strategies to gain control and manage anger better in all situations will also be discussed and practiced through interactive role-playing and scenarios.

Eat Yourself Healthy: Healing with Food

This course will explain the concept of the American Food System and the relationship between food and health.  Parent Learners will understand the importance of a whole food plant-based diet and be introduced to the concept of growing seasonal organic foods and herbs on a budget.

The Wellness Circle emphasizes the importance of mental wellbeing by providing an opportunity for Parent Learners to speak candidly about challenges, triumphs, and general topics that impact their lives. The ten pillars of A New Way Forward, an evidence-based curriculum will be used as the backdrop to create engaging dialogue and encourage mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. Parent Learners will also receive practical tools and techniques that support personal growth and development.

Parenting Circle

Tuesdays 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM or Thursday 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM 

Facilitator: Chris Latson

The Parenting Circle is designed to address the unique challenges of parenting. Parent Learners will develop strategies to improve their communication skills with their child(ren), techniques to encourage positive behavior, and activities to help strengthen their bond. The ten pillars of A New Way Forward, an evidence-based curriculum will be used as the backdrop to facilitate engaging dialogue along with an active parenting curriculum.
